rogpOS determines compatibility by model, revision, and release combination. No family of devices receives generic support because they have a similar name, similar processor, Linux or Android.
What a validation needs to inform
A supported entry must identify the physical device and its revision, corresponding release, installation method, file integrity, controls, storage, known limitations, and recovery path.
Panel, storage, controls and boot method may change between variants of the same family. Each relevant difference needs to be verified before receiving the same indication.
Published states
- Available: There are published release, requirements, integrity and recovery guide.
- In testing: there is ongoing validation, with no guarantee of publication or use outside the registered scope.
- Not available: the combination has been evaluated and has no released version.
- Not verified: There is still not enough evidence to confirm compatibility.
Current status
The hardware of R36S, R36S Plus and R40X Pro Max has been validated by the rogpOS team. This does not release a public installation: there is no published image, checksum, version, or recovery guide yet.
Validation does not automatically extend to clones, revisions, or similarly named devices. Each public release will indicate the model, the revision covered, the requirements and the recovery procedure.
